Tell us about yourself, your role in powering Amplitude, and your personal journey that brought you to where you are today.
I am a Southern California native who moved to the Bay Area and has loved it ever since. Despite studying economics in school, I found my place post-college as a sales development representative at Amplitude. I was fortunate enough to have amazing mentors who brought me into the solutions consulting world. I loved it, and I haven’t looked back.
As a solutions consultant (SC), I am constantly working with existing and new customers to learn more about the problems they’d like to solve and how Amplitude can play a role in that endeavor. Every day is different, and some fantastic customers are doing amazing things with their technology! I feel lucky to work with and learn from them and my peers every day.
How does your role at Amplitude allow you to contribute to the company's mission of helping companies bring “Power to their Products?” Can you share an example of a particularly impactful project you've worked on?
I get the privilege of working with our customers daily to help them unblock data bottlenecks via our self-service platform. Customers who use Amplitude can move faster and more confidently because of the trusted data, clearer insights, and fast, actionable insights we provide. Our customers are solving extraordinary problems and bringing delightful experiences to their end users, like helping individuals become more financially savvy and ensuring families can bring technology to their lives through Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
Amplitude's cultural values of humility, ownership, and growth mindset are foundational to the company's success. How do you embody these values in your work?
As an SC, I play an active role in owning a portion of the technical relationship with new and existing customers, from use case ideation to ensuring they’re actively aware of and using areas of the platform that can help them address key initiatives. There are high levels of growth mindset, ownership, and humility across the entire account team. This enables us to excel within our respective areas of expertise while maintaining cross-functional balance, ensuring the customer derives value from their partnership with Amplitude.
I’m lucky to have colleagues who are also shining examples of humility, ownership, and a growth mindset.
Amplitude offers a variety of benefits and perks to its employees. Which has made the biggest difference for you in your wellness and well-being?
Hands down, it’s the $100 wellness stipend! It helps me invest in physical activities like Barry’s Bootcamp, yoga, and the like, which help keep me balanced.
What is the #1 thing that most enables you to do your best work at Amplitude?
My teammates, hands down. I am grateful that I’ve been able to work at Amplitude for over five years now, and many of the first friends I made are still part of this journey with me. There’s nothing like experiencing the highs and lows to keep everyone bonded, and the culture that Amplitude has is unmatched. I feel fortunate that many of these colleagues have become lifelong friends that I will have beyond Amplitude.
We know that music can be a powerful motivator. What song or artist do you turn to when you need an extra boost of energy to power through a tough project or challenge at work?
Especially during work, I need music with fewer lyrics so I don’t get distracted! RL Grime (shout-out Halloween mix XII) has been on repeat.
